1. Washing Cashmere

Hand Wash Preferred: For best results, we recommend hand washing cashmere in cold water with a small amount of mild, wool-friendly detergent or baby shampoo.

Machine Wash Option: If you prefer to use a machine, place your cashmere item in a mesh laundry bag, select the delicate or wool cycle, and use cold water.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Steer clear of bleach, fabric softeners, or regular detergents, as they can damage the fibers.

2. Drying Cashmere

Gently Remove Excess Water: After washing, avoid wringing or twisting. Instead, gently press the water out, or roll the garment in a clean, dry towel to absorb excess moisture.

Lay Flat to Dry: Lay your cashmere piece flat on a towel, reshape it gently, and let it air dry. Never hang cashmere to dry, as it can stretch out of shape.

Keep Away from Heat: Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers. High temperatures can shrink or weaken the fibers.

3. Storing Cashmere

Fold Instead of Hanging: Cashmere is delicate and can lose its shape if hung. Always fold your cashmere pieces and store them in a cool, dry place.

Use Storage Bags: To protect cashmere from moths, store it in breathable storage bags, like cotton or linen. Avoid plastic bags, as they can trap moisture and cause mildew.

Lavender or Cedar for Moths: Add a sachet of lavender or cedar to your storage to naturally repel moths.

4. Refreshing Between Wears

Air Out: Between wears, let your cashmere garment air out for a few hours to remove any odors or wrinkles.

Steaming: If your cashmere becomes wrinkled, a gentle steam will help to remove creases. Avoid using a hot iron directly on cashmere, as it can damage the fibers.

5. Dealing with Pilling

Use a Cashmere Comb: Pilling (small bobbles) is natural with cashmere, especially in areas of friction. Use a cashmere comb or a fabric shaver to gently remove pills, taking care not to snag the fabric.
